Foot pain can make a work shift, a walk or a familiar pair of shoes difficult. The useful first step is to understand what is hurting and how it affects you. At Locke Minor Foot Surgery & Orthotics, registered chiropodists Navraj Sekhon and Elias Mohamed assess foot concerns in Hamilton and Stoney Creek.
Start with the problem you notice
You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis. Tell our team whether the concern is pain, a nail change, a skin problem or difficulty walking. Mention when it began, whether an injury was involved and whether you have diabetes or reduced sensation.
- Heel pain: note first-step pain, activity changes and time spent standing.
- Ingrown toenails: mention soreness, swelling, discharge or previous procedures.
- Hard skin and pressure: bring the shoes in which the problem is most noticeable.
- Diabetes-related concerns: tell us about any new wound or change promptly.
Assessment before a treatment package
A treatment choice should follow the findings of your assessment. Ask what the working diagnosis is, which options are reasonable, what they cost and how improvement will be measured. Orthotics, procedures and other therapies are options for particular situations; no single option suits every sore foot.
Choose your clinic
Hamilton appointments are usually Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9 am–6 pm, at 460 Main Street East, Unit M3. Stoney Creek appointments are usually Tuesday and Thursday, 9 am–6 pm, at 980 Queenston Road, Suite 103. Confirm availability when booking.
No referral is necessary to book. Call 289-269-1018 if you are unsure where to start, or use our guide for an uncertain foot problem. Severe injury, rapidly worsening symptoms or a medical emergency require urgent medical care rather than waiting for a routine appointment.
